Article দুই প্রকার (i) Indefinite ( a, an ) এবং (i) Definite (The)

A/ an কোথায় বসবে

Consonant এর পূর্বে ‍a বসে যেমন : a hen     **Vowel (ইউ)এর মত উচ্চারিত হলে a বসে, বাকী ক্ষেত্রে an বসে । যেমন : a European, a university.      **যদি O দ্বারা শুরু হওয়া শব্দ ওয়া এর মত উচ্চারিত হয় সে ক্ষেত্রে a বসে । যেমন : a one hundred taka note.        **Plural noun এর পূর্বে few, little, good, many, lot of, good deal থাকলে এদের পূর্বে a  বসে । যেমন : There are a few apples on the table.         **সংখ্যাবাচক expression এর পূর্বে a বসে ।Couple, dozen, score (100), hundred, million. যেমন : He earns a hundred taka a day.          **আশ্চর্যবোধক শব্দ (!) what, how এর পর a/an বসে । যেমন : What a pretty girl she is !

Vowel (a,e,i,o,u ) এর পূর্বে an বসে যেমন ‍: ‍an egg, an umbrella, an old man.       **সে সমস্ত Consonant এর উচ্চারন vowel এর মতো, সে সমস্ত শব্দের পূর্বে an বসে । যেমন ‍: an M.A , an  F.C.P.S, an F.R.C.S        **h যদি Vowel(অ) এর মত উচ্চারিত হয় তাহলে এর পূর্বে an বসে । যেমন :  an honest man.

 

The কোথায় বসবে

**Plural noun এর পূর্বে the বসে । যেমন : The boys, The honest girls.

** Noun + of  এর পূর্বে the বসে । যেমন : The importance of English, The courage of Babu is known to all.

**একটি Noun একাধিকবার উল্লেখ থাকলে এর পূর্বে the  বসে ।যেমন : I saw a bird. The bird was beautiful.

**নির্দিষ্ট করে বুঝাতে singular/plural উভয় ক্ষেত্রে the বসে ।যেমন : The boys are playing. The girl is reading.

**একই জাতীয় সকলকে বুঝাতে singular common noun এর পূর্বে the বসে । যেমন : The Cow is a very useful animal.

**এবই গুনাগুন সম্পন্ন দুই ব্যক্তি মধ্যে তুলনা করলে the বসে ।যেমন :Nazrul is the Shelly of Bangladesh.

**Noun এর  পর গুন বাচক শব্দ যুক্ত হলে ঐ শব্দের পূর্বে the বসে ।যেমন : Alexander the great.

**নদী, সাগর, উপসাগর, পর্বতশ্রেনী, দ্বীপপুঞ্চ, জাহাজ, ধর্মগ্রন্থ, তারিখ, পত্রিকা, জাতি বা সম্প্রদায, বৃত্তি বা পেশা, বাদ্যযন্ত্র, plural পরিবার, ভৌগরিক নাম (the USA ), ঐতিহাসিক নাম ( the mughal ), ordinal number ( the first, the second, the third), superlative degree (the biggest), পদবী/উপাধী  এর পূর্বে the বসে । প্রাকৃতিক বস্তু সমূহ : পৃধিবী, সূর্য, চন্দ্র, পূর্ব,পশ্চিম ইত্যাদি the বসে ।যেমন : The Padma, the Meghna, The Himalayas, The Daily Ittefaq, The quran, The Bible, the Secretary, The Liberation war, The United States, The 1^st June, 2008, The English, The Moon, The sun, The best boy.

Article কোথায় বসবে না

**ভাষার নামের আগে the বসে না । যেমন : He can speak…..English. I know….Bangla.

**কিন্ত বাক্যে language উল্লেখ থাকলে তার আগে the বসে ।যেমন : He can speak the English language.

**মাস He was born in January. ঋতু He will come in winter. বার He came on Monday.

**Nature- Nature save us. Society- We live in Society. Television- Television is very popular.

**রোগের নামের আগে ।যেমন : He has been suffering from fever.

**যে কাজের উদ্দেশ্যে স্থাপিত সেই কাজের উদ্দেশ্যে যাওয়া বুঝালে বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের আগে  the বসে না । যেমন : I went to collage.

**যে সকল জিনিস গণনা করা যায় না । যেমন : Water has no colour.

**Abstract Noun এর আগে কোন article বসে না । যেমন : forgiveness

**Proper noun এর আগে কোন article বসে না । যেমন : Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh.

**মানুষ জাতি, বাবা মা, সন্তান ইত্যাদি বুঝালে এর আগে কোন article বসে না । যেমন  : Man is mortal, Father loves me .

**Preposition, Common noun, proniminal Adjective ( my,his,her) এবং সংখ্যা দ্বারা বিশেষিত হলে কোন article বসে না । যেমন : My house, Two boys, Each girl.
